Business developer in a startup

The company is a B2B fintech startup specialising in payment gateway.
It enables businesses to collect payments more efficiently through different channels (online, mobile and physical point of sales). The platform has been designed to aggregate various innovative payment methods and multi-currency payments, making it possible to cover all the needs of its clients. The company also offer white-label mobile payment solutions.

To support the growth of the business, the company is looking for a new business developer to support its growth. Located in its headquarters in Cape Town, the position is suited for individuals with entrepreneurship “spirit” and who are eager to take part in the development of a very dynamic and innovative fintech startup company.

Your tasks:

  • Grow the merchant base within a few key sectors;
  • Consolidate the relationship with existing merchants;
  • Ensure competitive intelligence, seek for new potential business opportunities and partnerships;
  • Contribute to the marketing effort (website, SEO, campaigns, etc.);
  • Assist in product innovation and development strategies.

The ideal applicant should be/have:

  • In his mid-twenties
  • Knowledge in ecommerce/Mobile applications environment
  • The ability to set priorities and provide sales reports
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and organizational skills
  • The ability to learn and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • A goal and results-oriented individual who can accomplish tasks swiftly
  • preferably a B.S. and/or Masters degree
  • Proficient in English (essential).
