Mathilde tells you !

“My name is Mathilde Rembecki, I am currently a Master 2 student in the Grande Ecole Program at Audencia Business School.

I did a 6-month internship in a social circus as a marketing and communication officer. The circus was founded in Cape Town in 1992 with the aim of inspiring and helping young people in South Africa from different backgrounds. This NGO uses the circus arts to help populations in difficulty or distress. All circus programmes are free of charge for participants.

During my internship I was in charge of the creation, management and sale of derivative products, the updating of the website, the newsletter (English and French), the studies and analysis of satisfaction with shows and programs, the elaboration of webmarketing reports, the media coverage…

I had wanted to go to South Africa for several years and I wanted to do an internship in an English-speaking country where I had never been before.

I wanted to do an internship abroad in the cultural field, InternAfrika helped me to find an internship in this field. InternAfrika also allowed me to meet many French people also on an internship in Cape Town thanks to organized outings.

I really want to come back to Cape Town at the end of my studies for a VIE or a final internship.

Concerning life on the spot, I felt the danger at the beginning of my internship in Cape Town because many people had warned me. However, I never felt insecure during the day. Concerning advice, you should not walk alone at night, do not walk in the street with your phone in your hand, use Uber in the evening, do not go alone in the townships.

My fondest memory: Chapman’s Peak Drive, my favourite place in Cape Town. »
